When was the last time you saw a ladybird?

Think about it for a moment…

Ladybird populations around the world are under pressure due to two main factors: the rapid spread of an invasive species and the increased use of pesticides.

Ladybirds fulfill an important ecological function and contribute to sustainable agriculture and food security. They have also been associated with good luck, earning them the nick name, the “good luck bug.”

This project is dedicated to these incredible little creatures.

Through sharing information about the threats ladybirds are currently facing and what you, as an ordinary South African, can do to protect them, we hope to ensure thriving ladybird populations.
